Disaster Aid Programs

In addition to Federal disaster mitigation programs, the Federal Emergency Management Agency provides two additional disaster assistance programs following a Presidential Declaration. These include:

• Public Assistance: aid to states and local jurisdictions by providing 75% of costs to rebuild, strengthen and restore lost or damaged public infrastructure.
• Individual Assistance: disaster aid to homes and residents and generally includes aid for housing assistance, grants, loans, legal aid and other various assistance.
