Buffalo County Hosts Preparedness Day Event

On September 8, 2013, Buffalo County Emergency Management, along with other local agencies, partnered with the Old Navy store Kearney's Hill Top Mall for a Preparedness Day event.  Buffalo County's Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) came together to educate citizens how to be better prepared before, during and after a local disaster.

Visitors to the Buffalo County Preparedness Day event learn about emergency kits.

Buffalo County Emergency Management had on display its Mobile Response Unit and educated the visitors on emergency kits for the home and car.  Four separate emergency kits were on display, ranging from kits that can be purchased from the local Red Cross to kits made from items in your own home.
