Grand Island Holds CERT Exercise

Over 60 residents of Grand Island and the surrounding area participated in a disaster exercise for the Hall County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  CERT is a nationally recognized program that trains and organizes community volunteers to respond in the event of a disaster in their neighborhood. This recent CERT exercise included 26 CERT Basic Training students demonstrating their newly found skills in emergency triage, first aid, light search and rescue.

Also volunteering were current CERT team members, youth from local church and Boy Scout groups, and area families. To learn more about CERT or find a training session near you, visit the Volunteer section of Be Ready Nebraska.
