Environmental Health

Environmental Health Specialists perform many critical functions during emergency response, such as conducting shelter assessments, testing drinking water supplies, conducting food safety inspections, and controlling disease-causing vectors.  These functions are designed to protect the well being of area residents and to ensure a safe environment.  Many factors can come into play during times of emergency.  An Environmental Health Specialist will have a wide range of knowledge and skills that will be used to assess the situation and to perform task that are needed at the time of the incident.
